Buckeye Township Event at Park Winters

This event describes early pioneer families of the Buckeye Township that once existed in southwestern Yolo County. John Martin and Rafael Galiano, owners of Park Winters, hosted the event in a historic barn at their historic Victorian hotel.

Dr. David Vaught, Professor of History at Texas A & M University, presents an engaging talk about the history of Putah Creek Township. He vividly describes the miners-turned-farmers who dealt with floods, drought, bankruptcies, booms and busts -- yet they still succeeded in creating a vibrant community and a productive agricultural economy -- both of which exist today.
